Alfa Romeo has launched Edizione Luna Rossa special editions across its entire European lineup, covering the Junior, Tonale, Giulia, and Stelvio models. The collection draws inspiration from Luna Rossa, the Italian yacht racing team that competes in the America’s Cup, with which Alfa Romeo partnered in June 2025. That collaboration began with the ultra-exclusive Giulia Quadrifoglio Luna Rossa in January 2026, limited to just 10 units.
Special Edition Design Details
The Edizione Luna Rossa models are positioned as flagship variants of their respective lineups, featuring boat-inspired colors and custom interior touches. The Junior and Tonale receive a gray base with gloss black accents and red stripes, while the Giulia and Stelvio adopt a more exclusive blacked-out aesthetic with carbon fiber elements.
Buyers of the subcompact and compact SUVs can choose between gray, black, or white body colors. The Junior rides on 18-inch gloss black diamond cut wheels with a three-spoke design, while the Tonale steps up to 20-inch wheels and adds Brembo brakes with red calipers. Inside, both models feature black and gray upholstery using 3D knit technology, red stripes with Luna Rossa lettering, and dedicated Alfa Romeo emblems.
Additional interior upgrades include aluminum sports pedals, kick plates, new digital cockpit graphics, and ambient lighting. These editions represent the highest trim level available for each model, with powertrain options including hybrid and fully electric setups for the Junior, and hybrid and PHEV configurations for the Tonale.
Midsize Models Emphasize Exclusivity
The Giulia and Stelvio take a different approach, emphasizing sportiness and exclusivity through extensive carbon fiber usage on both exterior and interior surfaces. These models showcase red Alfa Romeo emblems and the Luna Rossa logo on mirror caps, with color options including white and Etna Red alongside the standard black configuration.
The Giulia features Quadrifoglio-inspired side skirts and a rear spoiler, paired with gloss black 19-inch alloy wheels. The Stelvio commands attention with 21-inch wheels. Inside, a monochrome scheme dominates with carbon fiber trim on the dashboard, center console, and door panels, complemented by leather and recycled Econyl fabric upholstery.
Red stripes accent the steering wheel and seatbacks, breaking up the black interior theme. Standard equipment includes a Harman Kardon hi-fi system and electronically controlled suspension. The electric sunroof comes standard on the Giulia sedan and optional on the Stelvio SUV.
Beyond Aesthetics: Technical Partnership
According to Stellantis, the partnership extends far beyond cosmetic enhancements. Alfa Romeo has contributed its expertise in simulation, road manners, and virtual analysis to support Luna Rossa’s America’s Cup campaign. The automaker also collaborated on developing and fine-tuning control software for systems that manage sail movement during competition.
This technical collaboration represents a deeper integration between the two Italian brands, leveraging automotive engineering knowledge for high-performance sailing applications. The relationship began in June 2025 and continues to evolve through this special edition program.
Engine options for the Giulia and Stelvio special editions include the 2.2-liter turbodiesel in two power outputs, with UK buyers also having access to a 2.0-liter gasoline engine that has been phased out in Europe. Notably, the V6-powered Quadrifoglio variants do not receive the Luna Rossa treatment, maintaining their distinct performance-focused identity.
The Junior, Tonale, Giulia, and Stelvio Edizione Luna Rossa models will gradually go on sale across European markets, positioned at the top of each non-Quadrifoglio model range. Pricing details will be announced closer to each model’s market launch.
