LDV D90 range adds diesel engine option - diesel engine
LDV Australia offers five D90 variants including a new Luxe flagship model.

The refreshed D90 now offers buyers a choice between a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and a 2.5-litre turbo-diesel engine.

The diesel variants are available exclusively with four-wheel drive and use a turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder producing 163kW and 520Nm, matched with an eight-speed torque-converter automatic. This engine is shared with LDV’s newer Terron 9 ute and recently updated T60.

To mark the launch, LDV is offering $4500 off its recommended driveaway pricing across the range until October 31, 2026, while stocks last.

Diesel Power Returns

LDV Australia general manager Dinesh Chinnappa said customer demand was behind the diesel’s return. “Customers have been asking for the return of diesel power to the LDV D90 ever since it was paused from our line-up two years ago,” he said. The diesel models bring a 3500kg braked towing capacity, compared with 3000kg for petrol D90 variants.

The combined fuel consumption for diesel models is listed at 8.1L/100km, while petrol variants retain LDV’s turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder producing 184kW and 410Nm, also paired with an eight-speed automatic. Rear-wheel drive is used on the 2WD models, while the petrol 4WD retains shift-on-the-fly functionality.

Range and Pricing

The revised range offers a wider range of price points, with the Mode grade remaining relatively well equipped with LED lighting, dual 12.3-inch displays, artificial leather trim, and adaptive cruise control.

The LDV D90 SUV measures 5046mm long, 2016mm wide, and 1876mm high on a 2950mm wheelbase.

Warranty and Servicing

The D90 continues to be covered by LDV’s seven-year/200,000km warranty and five years of roadside assistance. Diesel servicing is scheduled every 12 months or 20,000km, while petrol versions require an initial six-month/5000km service before moving to 12-month/15,000km intervals.

LDV is offering the D90 in five exterior colours, including Natural White, Concrete Grey, Spruce Green, Metal Black, and Metal Ash, with premium paint adding $500 and selected two-tone combinations adding $2000. With the revised range and launch campaign, LDV is looking to attract more customers to the D90, which has been a popular choice in the seven-seat SUV market.
