If you are interested in cars and are curious or enjoy finding out about the inner workings of an engine, then a career in automotive engineering might be the career path for you. Students first study a broad range of fundamental engineering topics, core mechanical engineering topics, and fundamental subjects of automotive engineering. The majority of our graduates follow careers in engineering and IT, with job roles ranging from software engineering at Sony-Ericsson to mechanical systems engineering at Network Rail, as well as roles in accountancy, consultancy or finance. A solid mathematical and scientific background necessary to comprehend the fundamentals of engineering. To achieve the required depth within automotive engineering, students must choose four extra courses.
You will then be introduced to the specific engineering principles and technologies that provide the foundation for the design and analysis of a Formula One racing car and hence to develop a computer model to predict the lap time of a typical F1 car around a circuit. Chalmers hosts the Swedish Hybrid Centre, SHC, which is a cooperation initiative between Swedish universities and the automotive industry. Professional internships are carried out in companies with the most recent production facilities and technologies in Lithuania and abroad.
A four year bachelor’s degree with a final overall result of at least 75{a775f47e5e8fab0076d6dd0f2239d5f40a1e14262a4fe67b7afc4fe8e63c40b1} (GPA of at least 3.5 out of 5.0 or 3.0 out of 4.0). This module includes principles and commercial practices for the management of engineering projects and related wider business operations. Solve non-linear system of equations numerically using various methods, and understand the geometrical application of vector analysis in engineering. Learn through a mix of lectures and tutorials, experimental laboratory work, engineering fabrication, drawing and design, computing and application-based mini projects.
The fees outlined apply to all students whose initial date of registration falls on or between 1 August 2017 and 31 July 2018. Students may also be able to take classes from aeronautical engineering, mechanical engineering and information engineering (all classes within the Faculty of Engineering & Computer Science) if lecture schedules and capacity allow. It allows higher education students to study for part of their degree in another European country.
We’ve built up excellent industrial links during the 50+ years that we’ve been offering engineering courses. See automotive engineering in action at facilities such as Castle Combe, Jaguar Land Rover’s manufacturing facility and Nissan’s technical R&D centre. This was a 10 percent increase from the 2010 median salary of $107,000, according to SAE International.
