Automotive companies face the challenge of adapting to a fast-changing world. Instead, students in the Automotive Engineering program will complete a summer practicum that exposes them to both the experimental and computational tools that are required of engineers in the industry. The course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), under licence from the UK regulator, the Engineering Council, and satisfies the academic requirements for incorporated engineer (IEng) status.
He has been a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and the Brazilian Society of Mechanical Sciences and Engineering (ABCM), and acts as a consultant to several government research funding agencies in Brazil and other Latin American countries, including CAPES, CNPq and FAPEMIG. This is designed to prepare you for the project-based working environment within the majority of the automotive industry.
Automotive engineers can specialize in a particular area, such as structural design, exhaust systems, and engines, and they can also work with focus groups and market specialists to determine what customers would like in their vehicles. To be eligible an applicant must either be a holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Science/Engineering/Technology/Architecture or be enrolled in his/her last year of studies leading to such a degree. The purpose of the Automotive Engineering program is to prepare students to work in engine development.
The content will include a revision of electrical basics, electrical power generation within vehicles, components and automotive electronic systems, instrumentation, actuators and sensors, digital systems and communication, introduction to control loops, transient and steady state performance and controller design methods. Must be an Engineering subject – Further Maths for Engineering Technicians module at minimum Distinction.
Basics are same such as Thermodynamics, Strength of material , theory of machines, heat transfer, Refrigeration etc but additional like automotive chassis, engine, dynamics, body engineering suspension, transmission are serperate. Accreditation is a mark of assurance that the degree meets the standards set by the Engineering Council in the UK Standard for Professional Engineering Competence (UK-SPEC).
