Stellantis has hired over 2,000 engineers to improve quality, according to the company’s CEO, Antonio Filosa.
The study found that Jeep had 182 problems per 100 vehicles, Ram had 222, and Chrysler had 229, all above the industry average of 175.
Filosa aims to have Stellantis reach the top of the quality charts by 2028. He claims that quality fixes are already being made quickly, with the establishment of “quality war rooms” to address the company’s quality woes.
These war rooms bring together engineers, quality personnel, and supplier quality engineers to work on components and systems that need improvement. Filosa stated that the company is fixing issues quickly and is committed to achieving its quality target.

The company’s efforts to improve quality come after reports of defects in models such as the Dodge Charger Daytona, which has been plagued by issues with panel alignment, trunk and passenger door faults, and other problems.
Improving quality is a challenging task, and the results of improvements may not be felt by customers for several years. Some have attributed the issues at Stellantis to cost-cutting measures enforced by former boss Carlos Tavares.
Stellantis is working to address its quality concerns, and the company’s progress will be closely watched by industry observers and customers alike. With its target of reaching the top of the quality charts by 2028, the company has a significant challenge ahead, but it appears committed to making necessary improvements.
